Tours Details

Day 1: Embark on Your Journey to the Sky

Your adventure begins at 08:00 AM as we depart from Underberg, setting off on a journey that will take you to some of the highest points in Southern Africa. Our first ascent is the legendary Sani Pass, where we’ll make a memorable stop at the Sani Top Church. Then, we continue our climb to the breathtaking Black Mountain. Here, a short hike leads to an awe-inspiring viewpoint overlooking Thabana Ntlenyana, the second highest peak in Africa at a staggering 3,482 meters, second to Kilimanjaro. We’ll then wind our way through the stunning Sehonghong Valley, pausing at “10 Riverside” for an authentic Basotho cultural experience. As evening approaches, we arrive in Mokhotlong—a remote outpost steeped in history—where we’ll head to the St James Mission to admire the fascinating architecture of their church ceiling before checking in to enjoy a hearty dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: Across the Roof of Africa

Following breakfast, we set out across the Roof of Africa, descending the dramatic Moteng Pass to reach Liphofung—a cultural gem that tells the stories of the San people and the Basotho who followed. Our journey continues to Leribe, known for its vibrant crafts, before heading to Katse Lodge. En route, we’ll stop at the serene Bokong Nature Reserve, where cascading waterfalls create a perfect setting for reflection and tranquility. As night falls, we settle in for dinner and an overnight stay at the cozy Katse Lodge.

Day 3: Discover Katse Dam and Beyond

After breakfast, we delve into the history and engineering marvel of the Katse Dam with a guided tour of the Interpretive Centre and the dam wall itself. We then continue our journey through the Lesotho highlands, passing through Thaba Tseka, Linakaneng, and the historic St James Mission. As we approach the end of the day, we’ll arrive at Sani Mountain Lodge, home to the highest pub in Africa, where we’ll share stories over dinner and enjoy another night above the clouds.

Day 4: Sunrise Over the Drakensberg

Start your final day with a sunrise breakfast on the deck of Sani Mountain Lodge, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views of KwaZulu-Natal as the morning light bathes the landscape. Afterward, we begin our descent down the iconic Sani Pass and return to Underberg by 11:00am.

This expedition is more than just a tour—it’s an unforgettable journey through one of Southern Africa’s most remote and beautiful landscapes. Book now to experience the adventure of a lifetime!
