Customer Reviews

We had a very nice, but certainly also a very interesting encounter with the elephants. The passion with which the people shared their knowledge about elephants with us was exceptional. During the ride on the back of these giants, we were still informed about their lifestyle, why they were at Elephant Wispers and how they are cared for. We have had an experience that we will never forget in our lives. Thank you team of Elephant Wispers. Keep up this good work forever. - Bennie

A fantastic experience! The staff was kind to the visitors, super kind with the elephants and highly knowledgeable. A unique experience for adults as much as for children. Highly recommended ! - Olivier

This was an amazing experience. What a gift to learn about what they do at this rescue and to learn about the elephants. Having been fascinated by elephants all of my life, gaining so much information and interacting with Tembo with the trainers was one of the highlights of my life. Witnessing how they care for the animals at the end of their day and learning about what happens after dark was also quite special. I chose not to go for a ride (it just didn't feel natural) but was blessed with spending more time with the trainers while we walked along, asking so many questions and learning more from them about these amazing animals. If you are equally fascinated by these amazing animals, want to find a way to support the work of this rescue while having a very special experience, this is the tour for you. - Carla

I was skeptical about going to Elephant Whispers but after doing some research I felt that the animals seem to be well cared for so we went. The facility is beautiful, right on the river and the elephants have a very nice stable to sleep in at night. The staff was great and spent a lot of time educating the group about elephants. You get to feed them and take pictures with them. The five elephants that live there are rescues (saved from culling) and are well cared for. The place is clean, there are a variety of things for the elephants to eat and they are allowed to roam freely on the property when they are not interacting with guests. They have a relationship with local farmers to provide elephant dung for fertilizer and in return the farmers provide fruit for the elephants. As there were hippos in the river we were not allowed to walk with the elephants and had to ride. We did the sunset experience which allowed us to walk up the hill (away from the river) with them to the stable and watch how they get put to bed. The staff set up a nice table near the stable with sundowners and snacks and answered all our questions about the elephants. I spoke with several members of the staff and they have been working with elephants for 12-20 years. My child was over the moon about being able to learn about these gentle giants and interact with them. - Natalie

We had an amazing time. It was so wonderful to be so close to these incredible elephants. We loved the opportunities for photos, and the staff were great. - James
